On the hunt for low-cal cocktails.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

cocktailsPool season is here and I look like shit. I’m completely out of shape. I finally made my first personal training appointment in ages and I’m on a mission to cut back the calories…. starting tomorrow.

On the caloric chopping block: my beloved cocktails. (By the way… I’ve always wanted to write “my beloved cocktails”)

Does anyone have experience with cutting out the sugar while keeping the booze? How does Splenda work in a drink? Awful? Good?

Do you have a favorite low-cal cocktail?

C’mon. Let’s work together on my waistline and still support my alcoholism.

Shame

For anyone doubting my waistline woes… here’s a new monthly list of restaurants that have made sure my digestive tract is… well, on track. For those counting, yes there are more listed than there are days in the month so far.

Sadly, this doesn’t even include any fast food slip ups. (probably not disclosed for fear of public shunning)

See any favorites? Share ‘em.

Did I forget any? Probably.

It’s just my “winter weight.”

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Confession: My gym membership card is caked in dust. In fact, I have over a thousand bucks in prepaid personal training. No joke!

I’ve managed to eat my way through the 2009 recession and Arizona’s top restaurants have given my waistline a hefty stimulus “package.” For god’s sake look at the photo in the previous winery post!

How can I manage my crazy eating out lifestyle and maintain a healthy body? We’re going to find out. The new “Waistline Woes” category will truly demonstrate the chaos between food and my lifestyle.

Are you committing to losing weight in 2010?

Any suggestions for success?
